Check your coverage
The single most important factor in getting great 5G Internet service is having strong carrier coverage at your address. We’ll do an address-level check when you sign up, and we’ll tell you honestly if we think another service or solution is a better fit. The goal isn’t to sell you a product — it’s to get you a connection you can actually rely on.

Build a great network in your space
Here’s the secret: a lot of “Internet problems” are really Wi-Fi placement problems. Even a strong 5G connection can underperform if the router is tucked into the worst possible corner of your home or office. (We love you, but we can’t save Wi-Fi that’s living inside a closet beside a metal filing cabinet.)

Start with these simple placement rules:
- Go high and open. Put the router on a shelf or table, not on the floor.
- Stay out of cabinets and closets. Closed doors + dense walls = weaker Wi-Fi.
- Try near an exterior wall or window. This can help the gateway maintain a stronger 5G signal — especially in older buildings.
- Avoid interference & signal killers. Keep it away from big metal objects, microwaves, TVs, and other high-energy electronics.
If you need better coverage across the whole space:
- Consider mesh Wi-Fi for multiple floors, thick walls, or dead zones.
- For “must not fail” devices (desktop computers or POS systems), use Ethernet if your gateway supports it. Wired connections are still the gold standard for consistency.
Light troubleshooting: quick fixes for common 5G issues
5G Internet issues often look a lot like broadband issues — and the fixes are usually similar too. If something feels off, call us. But in the meantime, these three steps solve a surprising amount (and help us help you faster):
- Power-cycle the router/gateway. Unplug it, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in. Simple, effective, and always worth trying first.
- Speed test “near” vs “far.” Run a speed test right next to the router, then test again in the room where things feel slow.
- Fast near / slow far usually means Wi-Fi placement or coverage. Try relocating the router or consider mesh.
- Slow everywhere points to service/signal — time to call support.
- Pause the bandwidth hogs. Big downloads, software updates, cloud backups, VPNs, and streaming can chew up performance. Pause what you can, retest, and see if the connection stabilizes.
